DeAnna Mackensen has a great sense of humor and a passion for life. Acquiring the love of sewing from an early age, this skill continues to help her today with abstract design and fabrication of many elements. Pursuing her dreams later in life led to her getting a BA of Arts with option in Interior Design from CSU Chico, California. Active in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) as a student she was able to participate in Chico Decorator’s Dream Home 2007 and Frugal House 2009, a fundraiser for the North State Symphony. In the fall of 2009 she built the Coley Chair and it was selected for the first ever Furniture Design Exhibition at CSU Chico. The Coley Chair won 2nd Place in the Recycled Art Competition sponsored by Recology Yuba Sutter in 2011.
DeAnna has been married for 30 years and has four children. Two of her children have special needs and she is a past board member of Family SOUP, a family resource center for children with special needs. DeAnna is currently Allied ASID. She is active in the ASID California Central/Nevada Chapter and believes that networking with designers is an excellent avenue for ideas and creativity to flow.
She has been serving satisfied clients in her residential design business since graduating from California State University Chico in 2009. One of her recycled furniture pieces appeared in HGTV magazine. DeAnna volunteers with ASID and supports special needs children in her community.
